State level workshop on financial literacy inassociation with UN Women and Rang De, organised in Jhansi. 12 of our Sakhi members from Debari have successfully started their new journey at BPCL Coco Petrol Pump in Udaipur. Mega Bank Credit Linkage camp organized in Kalinagar village, Rudrapur, where ₹1.25 crores were disbursed in loans to 101 SHGs. Successfully concluded a 4-day camp on Avartansheel Kheti that brought together farmers from Tikamgarh, Lalitpur, Mandla, Datia, Udaipur and Nepal. Two of our incredible women, Farsana from Ajmer pickle unit, and Yasmeen Bano from Baran, has been honored with the 3rd BW Disrupt Social Impact Leader Award and the prestigious Lakhpati Award from the Rural Development Ministry, respectively. Engendering Access To Financial Services

Manjari Foundation is working exclusively with women through Self Help Groups. Financial literacy is a very powerful tool that helps women to save, invest and earn as well. Our Financial Literacy program covers the entire spectrum from awareness-building to access to financial products and services.

 

At the core of our programme, are Financial Literacy Sakhis - rural women, who are trained in Financial Literacy and imparting training to Self Help Groups on savings, financial planning & household budgeting, Through our Sakhi's, women receive support to access several financial services starting from opening bank accounts, getting loans, insurance, remittances from government schemes and investments as well. We have developed a comprehensive training manual that covers the following themes.

 

Training Module Themes

Savings, financial planning household budgeting

Differences between needs and wants, the need for financial planning, how to make budgets & cash flows of income & expenditure, savings, and the importance of savings in life

Financial capability

How do people perceive money & financial services, making financial decisions, factors that support or constrain financial behavior, financial planning- generating, managing & using money, planning for the future, using financial services, using social capital, assets, and competencies

Institutions for keeping the money safe

Savings through various institutions - SHG, Post Office, Bank Etc. procedures and requirements for opening a group account & an Individual account, the difference between simple and compound interest, requirements for applying for a loan from the bank

Investment and social security schemes

Available options which include government and private both

Digital Financial Literacy

Cashless/ Paperless transactions, Debit card, Use of ATM, USSD, BHIM, e-wallet, mobile banking, net banking, Prevention against cyber-crime
