At Manjari Foundation, we are committed to empowering rural Indian women from marginalised communities, helping them overcome social injustices, poverty, and exclusion.
Our grassroots initiatives, built around a flexible, women-centric model, are designed to create social and economic transformation, even in the most challenging environments. However, our impact wouldn’t be possible without our vital partnership with Rang De.
Driving Change through a Women-Centric Approach
Manjari Foundation’s network of women’s institutions operates in areas such as livelihood, health, education, and natural resource management. Through these initiatives, we’ve impacted over 4,70,000 women across 900 villages in 13 districts in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, particularly focusing on the Bundelkhand region. Expanding our mission globally, we are also working in Mali and Senegal, with plans to cover the entirety of West Africa in the coming years.
Credit Access: A Critical Driver of Change
Financial independence is often the starting point for the women we serve. Many of these women have limited or no access to capital, restricting their opportunities for entrepreneurship, education, or healthcare. Through Rang De’s accessible and affordable loans, Manjari Foundation has been able to provide these women with the financial resources they need to pursue their dreams.
Most of these women, because of poor credit scores, would not have access to loans through traditional banks. Rang De’s model allows them to access affordable credit, making a significant difference in their ability to build a better life.
The Manjari Foundation X Rang De Partnership in Numbers
The impact of our partnership with Rang De is clearly visible in the numbers. In 2022, a total of 75 loans were disbursed, amounting to ₹33.60 lakhs. These loans went to women who were first-time borrowers, helping them start their journey toward financial independence.
In 2023, the number of loans increased substantially. A total of 435 loans were disbursed, totaling ₹1.92 crores. These loans were also granted to first-time borrowers, marking a substantial increase in outreach.
By the end of September 2024, Manjari Foundation, in partnership with Rang De, had disbursed a total of 774 loans, amounting to ₹3.27 crores. These loans reached 774 unique borrowers, all of whom were women. This was made possible through the Investments of Rang De social investors.
Moving Forward: Our Vision for Empowerment
As we look ahead, Manjari Foundation is committed to continuing our work, empowering women to move from the sidelines to the centre of society. This journey is grounded in our core values of trust, dignity, autonomy, equity, authenticity, and integrity. With Rang De’s support, providing affordable and timely access to credit, we aim to continue creating lasting change for women across rural India.
