89 small enterprises have been established under our Entrepreneurship Development Program with DS Group, across various locations. Successfully conducted two training sessions on organic farming with the theme "Rasayan mukt Kheti" under the Capri Project in Baran. Banda, Uttar Pradesh, where Manjari Foundation is actively working on water conservation, wins Best District award at 5th National Water Awards. Mega Bank Credit Linkage camp organized in Kalinagar village, Rudrapur, where ₹1.25 crores were disbursed in loans to 101 SHGs. A public awareness rally was organized in Zawar to highlight the significance of literacy.

We are very much delighted to announce our partnership with Hindustan Zinc Limited for the Sakhi project. Sakhi, the flagship initiative of Hindustan Zinc Limited and implemented by Manjari Foundation, is one of the unique and largest women empowerment programs across India, started in 2016Sakhi's focus is on building independent women's institutions to bring in rural women towards a productive front, by uniting them and enhancing their collective potential to be the change makers. It also aims to enhance the quality of life in rural areas through women-led development initiatives by promoting sustainable livelihood through micro-financing & enterprise development. Sakhi is on the date associated with 27000+ rural women through 208 village organizations and 7 registered federations. Grooming on soft skills and creating sensitization on gender awareness, financial and digital literacy, mainstreaming in education etc. are core focus areas while creating self-sustainable institutions. Sakhi Project will be implemented in 5 districts (Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand and Udaipur) of Rajasthan and Udham Singh Nagar of Uttrakhand district. In Debari (Udaipur district) Sakhi project is implemented in partnership with Hanuman Van Vikas Samiti.

Sakhi Project facilitated women for financial inclusion women Cumulative saving is 16.42 Cr. and loan disbursement is 85.43 Cr. Internal credit and bank linkages helped Sakhis to create new micro-enterprises as well as expansion of existing ones.  Sakhi women resulted inclusion of 27000 women in the Banking system. Also, 10 collective microenterprises of textiles, spices, pickles, pulses etc are established. Sakhi Haat is one of the modern marketplaces that started to connect customers directly. This one-stop solution is also providing a platform for other rural and traditional handicrafts.

 

The goal of the Sakhi project -

The project aims to mobilise women into three tiers of women's institutions (self-help groups, Village Organizations and Federations) and develop their capacities around financial inclusion, skill development, leadership, entrepreneurship and access to social security schemes. The Sakhi project will reach out and impact the life and livelihoods of 30000 marginalized women across locations.

The key objectives of the project are:

  • Mobilizing women in three tiers structure institution – SHG villages organization and federation.
  • Building social capital through community-led processes and local community participation.
  • Unlocking the livelihood prototype and economic prosperity through promoting context-specific livelihoods and micro enterprises.
  • Empowering women through enhancing the sense of agency.

 

 

The major thrust areas of the Sakhi project are institution building, financial and digital inclusion, Livelihood and Social enterprises development, Gender and social inclusion Access to social security schemes. The project objectives are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 1, SDG 2, SDG4, SDG 5, SDG 8). Besides this, the project aligns with a key CSR program already implemented by Hindustan Zinc Ltd. for empowering communities and enriching lives.
