HDFC Project in Sitarganj: Promoting Sustainable Farming Practices

On October 2023, Manjari Foundation embarked on the Focused Rural Development Project Project (Code:P0734) in collaboration with HDFC, aimed at catalyzing the transition towards sustainable, chemical-free farming across 40 villages in Sitarganj Block, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. This initiative seeks to enhance livelihoods and improve food security in the region.

The project, targeting Udham Singh Nagar district, focuses on promoting chemical-free farming practices. It includes training and capacity building for farmers, providing critical input support, establishing demonstration plots, conducting residential technical training, and setting up village resource centers and producer groups.

By encouraging sustainable agriculture and reducing chemical usage, the project aims to enhance food security and improve the livelihoods of rural communities. It also supports the transition to environmentally friendly farming practices, contributing to the well-being of the local population and the resilience of the agricultural sector.

The HDFC Project in Sitarganj is a significant step towards promoting sustainable farming practices and ensuring a better future for rural communities in Uttarakhand.
